Frequently-Asked Questions

Our FAQ answers many common questions people have about Create My Webstore's shopping cart and webstore administration program. Be sure to see the Features page and Screenshots page also.

Can I really get a free trial-period webstore?

Yes! After signing up for a new webstore, it will be created in just a few seconds so you can immediately begin adding products, pictures, prices and descriptions. You can select a website template and have your webstore fully customized and running in an hour or two. It will be fully functional and you can begin taking orders through your webstore immediately. We won't display any ads on your new webstore. We just want to give you time to really try out our features with no risk. You don't even need a credit card to get started.

There are a few minor limitations on free trial-period webstores. The most obvious limitation is that you can have only eight product categories. But you can have up to 500 products total so this should be more than enough to get you started!

Do you show any ads or banners on my webstore?

No, we never display advertisements on your webstore, even during your 45 day free trial. We only make money from satisfied paying customers who appreciate our service. Your webstore belongs to you and we respect that.

Can I see a webstore that uses your software?

Sure, take a look at BodyLighting.com which sells blinky lights, flashing jewelry, and light-up ice cubes. BodyLighting.com uses their own custom-designed store template for the customer side. You can use our professionally-designed store templates, or you can create your own using any HTML editor. You can even hire your own graphic designer to create a professional template, as BodyLighting.com did.

Do I need anything else to create my webstore?

Yes, you will need a free PayPal Business Account which will let you accept credit cards through your new webstore. Also, PayPal will provide you with the ability to create, purchase, and print shipping labels for your package shipments. PayPal has teamed up with the U.S. Postal Service, Canada Post and UPS to provide integrated shipping tools. When you're ready to ship your items, you can select the carrier that's right for you.

PayPal will let you create a Business Account for free. PayPal has no startup fee and no monthly fees. They just take a small percentage (about 2% or 3%) from each transaction which is normal for any credit card processor.

Once you've created your PayPal Business Account, you can enter the account information into the Administration program. This is the most crucial bit of information... without it, your customers can't pay you!

I already own a domain name. Can I use it for my new webstore?

Yes, that won't be a problem. Just let us know your domain name and the company who it is registered with. We will help you get the domain name pointed to your new webstore.
